Edyn is an intelligent solar-powered system that connects your garden to your smartphone and provides you with all the information you need to enjoy a healthy crop of vegetables.

Created by Jason Aramburu in collaboration with world-class designer Yves Behar, and currently raising money on Kickstarter, Edyn consists of a sensor-embedded device that tracks soil and weather metrics, such as humidity, temperature, light, and soil nutrition and moisture. It then sends push notifications to your iPhone in real-time via a Wi-Fi connexion, enabling you to make the best decisions for your garden. Furthermore, the accompanying app offers users suggestions about which type of plats would thrive in the given soil. And if you worry you are over-watering your vegs, Edyn also comes together with a water valve, which uses the data provided by the sensor to control the existing water system and supply your plants with the optimal amount of water.

”We believe the Edyn smart garden system will transform how we interact with our gardens and farms”, say the creators. ”It will enable us to become better stewards of the environment and what we grow, because understanding our environment is the first step to conserving it.”

Edyn joins Click and Grow and Sealeaf in the quest to ensuring that novice gardeners and small farmers alike receive all the technical support they need to grow high quality, organic produce for the local markets or for personal consumption.
