Snoop invests in an Uber-style medicinal marijuana delivery service

Following in the footsteps of the fastest growing app-based taxi operator in the world, San Francisco startup Eaze is not only a delivery service but also a sophisticated algorithmic technology, revolutionizing medicinal marijuana delivery.

The Eaze app allows users to browse through a hi-res menu of partners’ cannabis products, complete with in-depth descriptions and lab results. Customers can select a product and the app directs the order to the appropriate dispensary. Eaze promises to then deliver within 10 minutes.

Last week, Eaze raised more than $10 million in funding from DCM Ventures, Fresh VC, 500 Startups and Snoop Dogg’s Casa Verde Capital. In the nine months since its launch, Eaze has made 30,000 deliveries, and now the startup is looking to expand its team by hiring 50 people in the next 50 days.

People have come to expect ease and concierge-like immediacy from the services they use and there’s no reason the marijuana industry (the fastest growing in the world) should offer anything less. In our A Convenient Truth Observation we looked at a host of on-demand platforms from Uber to Netflix that operate in the interest of saving valuable time.
