English musician Sam Dust has released a new single, but instead of premiering the track through conventional channels, Dust, under the moniker LA Priest, has created a teaser website which plays snippets of the song.

The project, called Earth Window, asks users to take part in an online game. Searching through surrealist art works, the player must find a symbol, this will open a new tab, which in turn launches a new sound.  The more symbols you find, and sounds you uncover, the more layered the music becomes. The game culminates in a final level where users are asked to find a green door, which, if they do find, allows them to listen to Dust's full and completed track, Onio.

Dust had previously been of indie/electro band Late of Pier fame and hasn’t released anything since 2007. Deciding to adopt an interactive approach to launch his return to the scene seems a good strategy in garnering attention and reengaging fans.

The interactive music experience is proving a popular means of artists connecting with their audience.  TCF, with his project TCFX, used a similar method to Dust, but instead of a game, users were asked to enter codes online to gain access to unreleased material.
