Dyskograf

Aspiring music producers are spoiled for choice. With easy access to programs like Reason, Live, and even Garageband, most bedroom beatsmiths drown in the details before they can produce a listenable piece of music.
A collaboration between Jesse Lucas, Erwan Raguenes, Yrotyo, and AVoka, Dyskograf works by translating user-created 12" cards (think Scantron) into digital music.
Dyskograf is more of an art object than a practical piece of software, but there's a lesson in the bare bones, analogue-esque approach – something like, 'Less is more', or, 'Start with the basics'.
And if you're interested in Dyskograf, also take a look at The Sound of the Earth and the unwieldly titled An Instrument for the Sonification of Everyday Things.
