A new iPad app allows users to manipulate a choreographed dance performance and create unique viewing experiences each time
From music vids to lookbooks, when it comes to video content, consumers are increasingly placed in the role of director. Whether manipulating visuals or changing the style, speed or even angle they're viewing, the possibilities are often endless.
Joining the revolution is a new app created by Pentagram designers Abbott Miller and 2wice Arts Foundation – DOT DOT DOT. The app invites users to interact with a dancer performing a routine that has been designed, choreographed and scored for the tablet. Users can manipulate the angle the performance is viewed at with their fingers, creating a unique viewing experience each time. Seen from above, the dots on the stage trigger actions when they are touched, whilst seen from the side, the dots are rendered as columns that define the dancer's movements.
Its interesting to see new formats and technologies changing the way we view traditional formats and allowing an extra layer of engagement for the viewer.
