A new series of publications that explores fashion brands from a new perspective
Fashion magazines are ten a penny; often little more than a litany of look books, too broad in scope to offer any real insight into a particular label’s culture or heritage and regularly lacking in the editorial department.

Document is a new series of publications that explores fashion brands from a new perspective. Each edition gives an exclusive insight into a particular brand from a respected independent viewpoint, overseen by tireless fashion journalist, David Hellqvist.

For the first in the series, Document turns its attentions to Timberland, a brand with a solid history within subcultures and one that provides a fascinating retrospective. The team worked closely with Timberland but were careful not to let Document become yet another in-house offering, instead the magazine provides an editorial take on Timberland that could only be achieved by a third party editor providing his own content and ideas.

Like Cookbook and Lodestars Anthology, Document is another example of increasingly popular slow journalism. Rather than cramming dozens of adverts and advertorials into magazines week in week out, it’s worth taking the time to do a brand justice and in doing so inspire, educate and create a longer lasting desire among readers.
