For years, cash tip jars have been sitting on the countertops of coffee shop, allowing customers to leave their change and show some appreciation for their favourite barista. But since we have started using cards to pay for everything, these jars have been looking pretty empty.

Ryder Kessler wanted to change that. He designed DipJar, that allows customers to tip with their credit cards. Once retailers have installed and registered their jar, they simply need to plug it into a power outlet and start accepting tips. The jars have a preset tip amount, so customers need to not worry about how much money to drop.

It seems that ‘not having any change’ won't hold up as an excuse for not tipping anymore.
