Along with the huge sporting event taking over the London next month, a whole host of interesting cultural activities have sprung up in the area to celebrate the East End. One such event as part of Create London is 'David Bailey's East End', a photography show in Newham showcasing photographs spanning from the 60s until present day from legendary photographer David Bailey.

The photographs on display document the changing physical and social landscape of east London showing streetscapes, characters and scenes of east London life. His photos from the 60s, for example, capture all the East End characters of that time, including the infamous Krays, while his photos from the 80s record the graudal redevelopment of the area.

It's a fascinating exhibition showcasing an in-depth and personal history of the area and its ever-changing faces. Opening tomorrow, the show will run until 5th August. Check it out here.
