Last Saturday, in partnership with our good pals over at onedotzero, Protein hosted our first Data Hack Day at the London Transport Museum. The one-day hacking marathon attempted to demystify the art of data visualisation and make the case that anyone with a little creative inspiration and some juicy competition can display information in an interesting and attractive way.

The day got underway with presentations from data-inspired designer Stefanie Posavec, and featured exhibition artists Native who discussed their creative process and how they approach data. In a head-to-head format participants teamed up and were tasked with producing a graphic, animation or dynamic visualization that displayed the given dataset in a way that was interesting, enlightening and above all, visually appealing.

In the limited time available, some incredible artwork was created with everything from processing, interactive and static designs, to the more analogue. Take a look at the photos from the day, and stay tuned for info on upcoming Hack Days and events.
