In a bid to get us looking at the ordinary with a new perspective, Dutch visual artist Daniel Disselkoen has created a new app that invites you to stretch your creativity by taking photos. Cucalu is a game that encourages people to explore the world around them, and take photos of various shapes and patterns they find, thus making a game out of the physical environment; essentially eye-spy for the smart phone generation.

On his website, Disselkoen says "Cucalu blends photography and art to let you play with what you see in the real world. You take pieces from the real world and put them in a totally new context. The result is a beautiful, interactive collage of shapes in a virtual context. Cucalu gives you a new pair of eyes."

We're so used to having to cough up for extra lives on our smart phone games, it's refreshing to see a game designed to involve you in your surroundings instead of gluing you to the screen.
