Recognising that it's all too easy to get stuck in a rut, Alan Long, founder of creative company Sane & Able, has come up with an initiative that gives those working across the creative sectors such as advertising, design, architecture, web and illustration an opportunity to swap roles for a week.

Beyond learning the ropes of someone else's job, those involved will be able to exchange knowledge and ideas and also do a bit of networking. By taking these talented individuals out of their comfort zone, the idea is to encourage different ways of thinking, seeing and problem-solving as well as affording them an enhanced appreciation for creative processes outside of their own.

Open to any UK-based agency of two or more employees, Creative Swap organises all the placements promising that they’ll be mutually convenient location-wise; each participant will have to agree terms and conditions too.

Anything that challenges traditional ways of working automatically gets bonus points but we really like the Creative Swap concept for the way in which it aims to galvanise creativity, open-mindedness and collaboration.
