Like the Nike story we featured last week, Swedish high-street high fashion label COS also launched a Milan pop-up during Salone del Mobile this month. Designed by French design duo Bonsoir Paris, the understated space in oft-chaotic Ventura Lambrate was a serene tribute to Scandinavia: natural woods and warm whites abounded, and a a clever modular building system allowing for endless and easy reconfigurability took centre stage.

Launched to coincide with the debut of its SS 2013 ready-to-wear collection, the space and the collection together demonstrated a renewed emphasis on the brand’s pared down and pure ethos. Formal minimalism and prominent geometries interplay with the casual informality of a changeable space to make for a pleasant rethink of the traditional retail experience.
