Cora tampons are entirely organic, available on subscription and poised to challenge the homogeneity of the feminine hygiene market.

Words like female empowerment, post-feminism and girl-gang have entered the contemporary lexicon of late, becoming welcome buzzwords for change in the process.

Despite their ubiquitous use, tampons have been the last in line to receive a modern makeover to adapt to women's needs of today. Relegated to the back of bathroom shelves, most tampon companies have followed the archaic "pink it and shrink it" motto that so many brands catering to women seem to favour.

Cora, a new tampon subscription service, is ready to change all that. Having researched and realised the harmful effects brought about by a homogenous tampon market, founders Molly Hayward and Morgan Newman developed a tampon made of 100 percent organic cotton. The Cora Tampon is free from rayon, fragrances and synthetic materials. Additionally it’s completely biodegradable and hypoallergenic.

The tampons - which also streamline a subscriber’s life by being delivered to their home - arrive in a small, vegan-leather black clutch. An item deliberately lacking stereotypical girlishness.

Cora also offers tampon stowaways. These lipstick-sized cardboards store tampons individually and were designed with the commute and frequent travel in mind, mercifully reducing the risk of them slipping loose from their packaging whilst in your bag.
