The internet of things knows no bounds. What hope is there for the rest of the unconnected object world if even the printed magazine has jumped on the bandwagon?

Those who have ‘liked’ Brazil’s largest fast fashion store C&A on Facebook will have recently received the latest edition of Contigo Magazine with an accompanying interactive C&A supplement. Brazilian creative agency DM9éDDB have fashioned a magazine in partnership with Microsoft and mobile operator Tim, that let’s you ‘like’ your favourite new look in the magazine. Readers who upload their Facebook information are sent a magazine with a special chip containing their details, they can then press 'Like' icons which upload to their Facebook feed without having to activate another device.  All the "likes" were then sent to a display in the Morumbi Shopping store, showing the most popular outfit.

This is one of the first examples we’ve seen of printed media directly connecting to the network. If the two rivals can bury the hatchet perhaps there could be a positive interactive relationship to forge between print and digital.
