Constellaction is a simple, yet dazzling light installation created by panGenerator, a new media design and art collective based in Warsaw, and the brains behind the Tactilu bracelet. The installation consists of 400 small vacuum formed tetrahedron components that react to sudden changes of light intensity. When activated by an external flash of light, the tetrahedron blinks its own light and emits sound. Nearby tetrahedron components catch that light and and react in the same way, passing it further and creating a 'light wave'. Arrangement of the components is totally customisable and users can play around with all kinds of shapes and patterns, generating unique light waves every time, stimulating the devices' collective behaviour and creating an engaging public environment.

The Pool, by Jen Lewin, generates a similarly engaging environment, creating a field of platforms that generate light ripples when stepped upon. The more participants, the more ripples. Together they create complex colour arrays. Dune by Daan Roosegaarde engages the public with a collection of light emitting fibres that brighten when they hear sounds or detect the motion of passersby.
