Nicholas Andersen and Julie Ho make up CONFETTISYSTEM. Creating art work out of tissue, cardboard and silk, they’ve taken party decoration to the extreme. Their work has secured them commissions from Opening Ceremony and J.Crew, the American Ballet Theatre and Pop Magazine plus work with musicians Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Beach House.  Nicholas and Julie have kitted out experimental project space W/ ---- in New York with ‘LIGHTS UP!’, where a film by Jon Leone (director of the Fireworks music video for Animal Collective) is being projected, and where Sweden’s young pop dream Bubbles is due to play June 1. Metallic spotlights and dreamy CONFETTISYSTEM branch pieces overgrow and transform the small W/ ---- space giving you that warm fuzzy feeling that we can only relate to you as your first encounter with Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory way back when. The pair are testament to the DIY ethos and their lovingly homemade and playful designs bring us right back to the childhood anticipation induced by the colourful piñata you couldn’t wait to bat. If you just so happen to be in New York, we strongly recommend you pay a visit. Click here to find out more about the event and here to check them out on The Selby.
