Comme des Organismes is a series of animations which reinterpret the initial concepts behind Comme des Garçons Spring 2014 Women's Collection as living organisms instead of clothing. Each video artwork is a speculative re-imagining of what would happen if the creative research and inspiration itself 'gave birth' to autonomous life forms with their own patterns of movement, textures and voices.

Led by Berlin design agency Zeitguised every concept is presented as its own contemporary-primordial creature animated from different perspectives in a triptych by Derya Otzturk with sound design by Michael Fakesch. Rather than use the finished collection as the starting point for inspiration, the team have headed straight to the source of the idea, exploring how the raw creative material can generate unexpected cross-disciplinary outcomes.

Other recent concept projects playing with the relationship between life forms and design include Dutch designers Suzanne van Beest's Wonderpus material experiments and the Minimaforms robotic 'petting zoo'. Each video artwork is available in limited edition on S[edition].
