Audiovisual interactive experiences are all the rage these days and now with virtual reality itself becoming more of a reality, immersion has never been so all-encompassing. Collider, developed by indie game studio Funktronic Labs, is a new audiovisual experience that brings together 3D infrared imagery and a futuristic soundtrack to create an experience with unlimited acceleration.

Built in just three weeks utilising Leap Motion and Oculus Rift technologies, Collider’s visuals are inspired by the inner workings of the Large Hadron Collider - letting the user grab and swipe their way through a psychedelic, never-ending, vortex. The soundtrack to the visuals is provided by Japanese multimedia artist Baiyon, an influential figure in the Kyoto house scene, who has a history of pairing experimental sounds and visuals in a virtual environment.

Like Nimbes before it, Collider is another example of heightened imagery and sounds coming together in an immersive virtual setting.
