To coincide with the launch of their much anticipated sophomore album Coexist, The XX have released a dynamic data visualisation that maps out how their album is spreading around the world.

Through the site, users are able to stream the album in full, share it with friends, and watch how others have shared it across the social web. Arcs trace the sharing trajectory, plotting out the location of listeners and the people to who they've passed it. By moving the timeline and restarting the curves, users can map the sharing by each day since the launch.

The visualisation is a collaboration with Internet Explorer, and the second recent – and interesting – collaboration the internet company have made to push their latest browser. Earlier this year they released the Brandon Generator interactive, comic-book web-series with director Edgar Wright.
