Every author experiences writer's block from time to time. When it happens, there’s seemingly not much you can do other than have a drink and wait it out. Enter Coda - a new platform that offers assistance to writers looking for the right inspiration to put pen to paper (or finger to key). The iOS app allows users to submit the beginning of a story, poem, or any other piece of writing to others using the platform, who, after signing in on Twitter, can then contribute the next section - be it a single word, line, paragraph or more. The original author of the work ultimately decides what gets added in, completing a social circle of community-created writing.
Although this isn’t the first app designed to combat writer’s block (Help Me Write and OKDoThis are designed for writers and photographers, respectively), it is the first to focus on mobile, making it a handy companion for today’s writers on the go. Coda is available to download from the App Store now.
