Tech startup Rooti has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a wearable Bluetooth tracker that monitors a user’s immediate environment. Called CliMate, the tracker syncs data on humidity, UV index and temperature (HUT) - allowing users to manage or avoid weather they don't like the sound of.

Connected to its smartphone app, CliMate syncs HUT data every 15 minutes, tagging the location and time of each reading. The data then gets sent to CliMate’s cloud database – so as well as being a personal weather station for your close surroundings, users can check the HUT levels of other areas they might be visiting later on.

Enter personal details like skin tone and the SPF sunscreen you use, and you’ll get handy in-app alerts for when you should be reapplying. Rooti is looking to raise $50,000 for CliMate – for more info on the tracker, visit Kickstarter.

It's interesting to see smart, environment monitoring devices like this that not only track our immediate surroundings but connect to each other to colllect information on an even wider scale.
