Cinemetrics is a piece of data-visualisation software that breaks films down into various key elements, such as colour, speech or motion and places in a readable visual fingerprint.

The software was created by Frederic Brodbeck for his bachelor graduation project at the Royal Academy of Arts, and enables people to compare key elements of different films.

Alongside the animated date Brodbeck also produced a series of film posters and a book, which cover the project's development and progress, every step of the way, all produced in the designer’s slick style.

Last month we wrote about TK Type’s Chartwell Type, which lets people create their own pie charts and graphs. It would seem that info-graphics art is on the rise and if these new beautiful designs are anything to go by we hope to see a lot more in the coming year.
