Boxed-up fancy food really picked up with the likes of Graze, but now one company is offering the exact opposite of healthy snacking - a direct-to-your-door service that's guaranteed to deliver the meat sweats.
In the wake of a successful US launch, Carnivore Club is now setting its sights on Britain. Each month, specially selected artisinal meats will be delivered as part of a new, £29 a month subscription service.
Past boxes have included a smorgasbord of hand crafted, cured meats like salametto rustico, pancetta and prosciutto. Each assortment features tasting notes and a brief history of the meat, along with guides on what to eat it with and a monthly wine pairing - with discounts on wine clubs to boot. Intrigued carnivores can sign up to the service as of this month, while more tentative meat eaters can buy a one-off monthly box for a little bit more.
It all seems part of a wider trend to bring high quality produce to your door for a premium. Subscription service Shaken, for example, acted as your own personal guide to cocktails, providing kits through the post for £29 a month, enabling those with busy lifestyles to partake in the finer things too.
