The craft and graft trend is everywhere nowadays, from trendy shops to craft beer and hipster hiking boots. And now, finally, it's reached perfume.

The video for new scent Campfire Cologne sums up its ethos. It begins with a bearded guy who hikes in the wilderness, lights a campfire, deeply inhales and is one with nature – the epitome of manliness. Just when you think that he couldn’t be manlier if he tried, the same guy wakes up from his daydream and finds himself in a dull open-plan office, wearing a headset and staring at a pile of burnt sticks. What evoked this daydream is, of course, Campfire Cologne, a perfume that releases its smoky scent not by spray, but by simply lighting a match.

Created by Antler & Co, the beardy men’s perfume promises to be the ‘true scent of your best summer ever’ and ‘a nostalgic ode to the unending days of youth’. While it may not be the next best-seller at the perfume counter, similar to The Scent of a MacBook released a few months ago, it's another fun approach on how fragrances can play an integral role in branding strategies.
