Our friends over at Babelgum have informed us that you can now watch major new Brazilian documentary CadeÃÇncia exclusively on their site! Commissioned by Nike Sportswear, CadeÃÇncia explores the essence of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil ºs symbolic identity, reflected in its love of passionate movement through looking at traditional  ªpipa º (kite) culture to the dance-like martial art capoiera to the phenomena of football, which is as much a religion as it is a sport in Brazil.

The documentary features commentary from academics, artists, footballers and, last but not least,  ªO Povo º (the people). You can really get a sense of the spirt of the city just from watching from your computer screen - as I've just done - plus, CadeÃÇncia is the perfect visual feast to get your teeth into while preparing for the super hyped upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Director Dan Bartlett of Bantam Films has said that “the real inspiration for CadeÃÇncia was to be able to address aspects of Brazilian culture that I had come across after living in Rio for nearly three years,” and it's fair to say that he's done the job. As all eyes are watching the most successful national team in the history of the World Cup, Brazil is surely the hottest place on the planet at the moment. This is a documentary for footy fans, anyone that enjoys the magic of Carnival and all the culture and good vibes that Brazil brings.

CadeÃÇncia is being shown exclusively on Babelgum so get clicking!
