If you miss building stuff out of Lego, a new project from Lego and Google might be of interest. Build with Chrome allows users to virtually create any Lego creation and share it on a Google Map, creating a permanent exhibition of all designs to date.

Users are initially presented with a map of Australia and New Zealand, where they can either zoom in to look at previous models or select a plot of their own for their creation. Then it's easy: on a 32 x 32 plot you can choose from the 12 classic brick types (and 10 colours) to play around with at your heart's content. It's simple enough to use, with similar features to Google's 3D modelling tool, Sketch Up.

Although the map is currently only of Australia and New Zealand (the project is part of Lego's celebration of their 50th year in the area), Google hopes to expand it to a map of the world. We can't wait.
