A collection of apparel and headwear made entirely from second hand clothing

California based fashion brand Brixton, has recently launched its ReStitched program; a collection of apparel and headwear made entirely from salvaged fabrics sourced from second hand clothing. Their extremely limited stock offers one-of-a kind, handmade pieces with a bohemian touch, signature to the Brixton identity.
The project started as a creative brief, challenging the designers to experiment with new materials and construction methods. It quickly evolved into a whole new concept for repurposing vintage clothing. With a love for the vintage aesthetic, the brand set out to find premium pieces such as 1920’s kimonos, vintage mailbags and beaten up leather jackets, before working with local factories in California to repurpose them. The result is a stunning collection of unique caps, fedoras and bowler hats. Men and women’s apparel will soon be revealed.
Up-cycling and sustainability are beginning to gain traction within the fashion industry. Fellow Californian clothing brands, Patagonia and Everlane have recently set out on coast-to-coast Worn Wear and Transparent City Tours respectively, promoting sustainability and radical transparency.
