On Sundays when Brick Lane is taken over by food stalls it’s often hard to choose what to eat. Save yourself the headache this weekend and check out ‘The Ribman’. He’s earned a reputation for his ridiculously tasty rib filled buns. So much so that we suggest you make sure to catch him early...he’s usually sold out by early afternoon. This former butcher is crazy passionate about ribs. Waking at the crack of dawn, he’s usually down at the market by 3am where he preps for serving at 9am. The meat is British quality assured prime pork, strictly sourced from outdoor reared pigs. Whole racks of marinated BBQ ribs are cooked in tinfoil until they’re soft enough to pull apart, by hand, into mammoth sized buns - hot sauce and all. We dare you to finish them. The Ribman is just one of the many carnivorous treats London has to offer this summer. Check out Jamie Oliver’s new American eatery Barbecoa, also in east London, and of course The Meatwagon’s relentless travels across the capital. He’s just taken up a residency at The Rye in Peckham, which you can track by clicking here.
