Australian start-up Sorry It's Over will dump your partner for you
Neil Sedaka was pretty much spot on when he crooned about breaking up being hard to do. It was hard then and it’s hard now, which is the motivation for Australian start-up Sorry It’s Over; they plan to help those who don’t have what it takes to do their dirty work themselves.
“It’s tiresome when you have had enough of your partner, you have to make up some reason why don’t want to be with them any more and then you have to decide how to deliver the news,” say the team on their website. “Let us sort out your relationship for you!”
Sorry It’s Over offer a number of services, from a text on your behalf ($5.50) to a sympathy hamper ($90) containing a bottle of wine, chocolates, tissues, peanuts, snakes and a quote. Alternatively, Sorry It’s Over will send a representative to break the news in person ($66).
While it’s advised that such an insensitive approach shouldn’t be adopted for breaking up with long term partners, Sorry It’s Over hope to cater for more cursory relationships; an antidote to the stream of new dating apps if you will. “Don’t cry because it’s over,” say the team, “smile because it happened.
Now that there are so many services making it easier to forge relations, it was only a matter of time until someone cashed in on ending them.
Breaking up is no longer hard to do
