British travel agents Thomas Cook are moving away from the family oriented holidaying experience with a holiday destination aimed squarely at likeminded millennial travels.
In a move that marks a dramatic shift away from their synonymy with the all-inclusive family holiday, British travel agents Thomas Cook, have launched Casa Cook, a luxury hotel situated on the Greek Island of Rhodes.
Designed in tandem with Berlin-based design agency Lambs & Lions, Casa Cook will cater specifically for contemporary travellers who, in a desire for more immersive regional holiday experiences, are far more likely to book an Airbnb or a boutique hostel than they are a conventional hotel room.
Described as a “relaxed boutique hotel that brings a special bohemian spirit to the beach”, the 90 room hotel - which lies minutes from the Aegean Sea in Kolymbia – will offer yoga and fitness classes, excursions designed to immerse guests in the local culture and a day-to-night kitchen built into a communal space.
The United Nations World Tourist Organisation (UNWTO) expects millennial driven youth tourism trips to increase to 300m by 2020. By 2025, millenials are expected to account for over half of all business flights. Statistics such as these confirm that this demographic will dominate the travel market for years to come.
Thomas Cook intends to introduce three more individually built Casa Cook hotels by 2017.
