This weekend whilst Protein is in Berlin we plan to check out nhow Hotel, coined as Europe’s first boutique music hotel. Situated on the banks of the river Spree, nhow Berlin opened this past November with music at the centre of it’s entire functionality; they have their own music manager, an in-house recording studio of international standards, and room service will most certainly respond to your request for a Gibson guitar to be delivered at midnight. iPods are sprinkled everywhere with a detailed program of events in their events space (including 1000 square metre of terrace space with panoramic views of the city) and exclusively designed beds with in-built music speakers and a massaging effect.
With Berlin notorious as the continent’s music capital, the commissioning of award winning New York designer Karim Rashid for the hotel’s interiors seemed a necessary partnership; each component of it’s design is stemmed in referencing music chords, adhering to the concepts of harmony and aural stimuli.
This overarching concept can be localized to any music hub in any continent world wide and we're curious to know how the brand will expand in future.
