Hot dogs, sunshine and Beck’s ... lots of Beck’s. You don't have to be Stateside to celebrate 4th July, as we very happily discovered last night. Hundreds of people showed up at 18 Hewett Street yesterday to celebrate the launch of the Beck’s Green Box Project.

From now on London, Milan, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Rome will start to see mysterious 2m³ acrylic sculptures pop up on the streets / on roof tops / open spaces. Over the last few months, we've been helping Beck’s select and commission 30 internationally renowned artists to create artworks for their own Green Box - too many to list here but just to give you an idea, artists involved include LuckyMe, Stephen Burks, Kate MccGwire, Kenneth Cappello, Kathy Grayson, Austra, Hannah Barry, Hussein Chalayan, UVA, Warpaint ...

The actual boxes themselves were designed by our good friends at Jason Bruges Studio and when you hold up your phone with the free custom built AR Green Box app enabled, the Green Box will reveal the exclusive artworks. Incredible. The project is a massive bringing together of like-minds to raise awareness for the Beck’s art fund, which will see hundreds of artists receive funding from the well-loved beer brand to make their own Green Boxes.

The project is awesome and we’re really excited to be a part of it. Since October we’ve been working hard to make this all happen and yesterday’s launch was a fantastic way to bring it all home. Free Beck’s for everyone that came down, free hot dogs from Abiye of Big Apple Hot Dogs, artists, friends and family all down to hang out and find out more. Keep updated at Becks.com - big things are coming.

Here are some snaps from last night, cheers to everyone that came down. Photos from our very own Teddy Fitzhugh and Mitan Mistry.
