We have seen a wave of artists adding advanced digital experiences and apps to their releases, including Calvin Harris, Snibbe Studio and Bobby Womack - all reinventing how we engage with music.

Last week Yung Jake released a new app called  ‘Augmented Real’, adding yet another layer of invention to the listening experience by incorporating AR. He has previously blown our minds with his e.m-bed.de-d video and this time he has done it again, in 3D-style. Both videos made the official selection of the 2013 edition of New Frontier at the Sundance film Festival. If you want to watch Jake “get all augmented”, download the free app, go to the associated website and point your smartphone at the screen.

This is another great example that shows how adding an element of experience can help artists stand out when promoting themselves, making the future of listening all the more exciting.
