Mixing and experimenting with food flavours is not just for everyone, we prefer to assign this peculiar task to professional chefs – whether human or AI. Now Molecule-R, a Canadian venture specialized in molecular gastronomy, wants to ease your way into trying more adventurous food pairings with Aromafork, a patented utensil designed to create novel eating experiences.
Most of what we call taste is actually smell, triggered by odor molecules emanating from the food we are about to eat. Molecule-R used this knowledge and equipped the fork with a depression on its handle that can hold a piece of infused blotting paper. Aromafork comes with a kit of 21 liquid aromas – from wasabi to bubble gum – to be difused upon consumption. All you need to do is apply your chosen flavour with a dropper onto the blotting paper, and your experimental meal is ready to be savoured.
The food enriching kit is now available to pre-orderat a starting price of almost $60.
