Wearable technology is really in its infancy. Although there are a fair few potentially interesting applications that have garnered a lot of attention, the functions still haven’t quite found their place.
A new product from British designer Lulu Guinness aims to rectify this - the Archive Eyes handbag couples a major name in fashion with one of the more interesting developments in camera technology. OMG Life’s 'lifelogging' camera, the Autographer, is typically worn on the person and takes an automatic snap when certain criteria are met. With Guinness’ help, Archive Eyes places the Autographer into an accessory that’ll capture all the right moments fashionably and on the sly.
This handbag is strictly limited edition and there’s a special pocket and accompanying pouch - with included secret peephole - to keep the Autographer in. The Autographer’s a 5MP device and has a wide lens, along with gigabytes of internal storage to make sure it keeps on snapping. It's interesting to see efforts being made to make the 'wearable' aspect of wearable technology a little bit more appealing.
Archive Eyes costs £395 and comes with the bag and camera included - going on sale late July for Guinness’ A/W 2014 collection.
