Greek digital agency Mindworks Innovation Lab has set up a virtual fish tank that lets visitors feed the aquatic inhabitants in real life and real time.

Coders say if you want a task done efficiently you should give it to the laziest person, and that is what Aquard.io seems to be about. Rather than feeding his own fish, Mindworks Innovation Lab Director Marios has built an engaging (if complicated) way that outsources this chore to web surfers.

Perhaps more 'internet of fins' than Internet of Things, Mindworks paired an Arduino board with an automatic feeding device that schedules breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and allows user participation. Website visitors enter a virtual queue and, if patient enough, can be the lucky one to release the food. Feeding only happens about once an hour so the team also introduced an air pump for users to play with. Three camera angles are available along with some relaxing background music.

Similarly, albeit a little more high octane, animal welfare charity CIWF last year offered visitors at London's Westfield the chance to catapult apples into a field of pigs using an interactive donation app.
