On Thursday night, the second volume of The Anonymous Sex Journal – The Virginity Issue, or First-Timers – took over the rooms and suites of the Hotel Amour in Paris.

Guests wandered the brooding, black corridors of the Amour, stumbling in and out of rooms. In one, Damien Florébert Cuypers, illustrator of the issue, captured guests in crayon sketches as they reclined on a large bed. In a turquoise boudoir down the hall, performer Robin Clyfans regaled partygoers with tales from the Journal.  A typewriter was set up in the dimly lit Serge Gainsbourg room for people to submit their own anonymous anecdotes for the next issue.

Prints of Japanese bondage weren’t enough to distract guests in the duplex master suite, as the Amour’s dishy Barman rustled up cocktails aptly called Willy and Fanny, with the bathtub and sinks filled with ice and bottles of the house’s own champagne. Guests swigged from the bottles and danced on the shag pile rug to 60s girl group records selected by Gabriel Pryce of Real Gold.

This latest edition of The Anonymous Sex Journal, curated by Alex Tieghi-Walker and published by Protein, is once again bound by wipe-down covers, and reveals 35 witty and awkward encounters of that first time fumble, accompanied by Damien’s playful illustrations.

The Hotel Amour and its buzzing pink neon sign made the perfect stage for this salon soirée, as guests staggered off in to the warm Paris night with a Koibito hangover kit in one hand and a naughty journal in the other.
