Last night Protein proudly hosted the launch of the Animate Everything exhibition at our 18 Hewett Street Gallery. The show, which is now open to view by the public, celebrates the often-overlooked medium of animated Gifs, and features a series of video works created by renowned artists. The launch last night also saw the unveiling of graffiti artist INSA ’s latest work, which has turned one side of the Protein HQ building into a moving animated canvas.

Other artists involved include Parra, Mimi Leung, Jiro Bevis, Jim Stoten, Nous Vous Collective, Colin Henderson, Will Robson Scott, Tyrone Le Bon, DDF, Margot Bowman, Dan Swan, Paddy Jones, Max Pearson, Tom Pratt, Hans Lo, Rory Gleeson, Nicholas Burrows, William Edmunds, Stevie Gee, Lewis Teague Wright, Phoebe Collings-James, Dylan Fisher, Melvin Galapon, Rhys Coren, Dan Has Potential.

With a selection of 20 artists bringing this web-based media into our concept space, the show which runs till the 15th of August, satisfies the long-term itch we've had to acknowledge and experiment with this growing and influential online medium. The opening last night attracted a great crowd of friends, family and familiar faces, and we'd like to thank everyone that came down to help make it an evening to remember.

The gallery space will be open Monday to Friday 10am till 6pm and Sunday 12pm till 6pm, come down!
