Comprised of thirteen inflatable bubbles which have appeared around Copenhagen, Aeropolis is a new installation created as part of the 2013 Metropolis festival.

Conceived by Marco Canevacci of the Berlin based architecture collective Plastique Fantastique, each transparent pod takes just 20 minutes to inflate. The bubbles are constructed from fireproof PVC and engineered using ventilators to ensure a sustainable allocation of air inside.

Each inflatable bubble forms a temporary urban space without the need for construction. These pods become lecture halls, yoga classrooms, observational night spots and live music venues, before deflating and disappearing forever. Due to their adaptable nature, these tear drop shaped installations form a loose route around the city, located in a chapel, in the main square and found in various parks and green spaces.

Aeropolis is reminiscent of the House of Peroni, as it brings a variety of new, temporary creative spaces to a crowded, bustling city.
