Adobe Lights
Reflecting Adobe's worldwide userbase, 100 cubes provide a colourful glimpse into ongoing projects, in real time
100 individual cubes are connected to an equal number of individual artists around the world in this new colourful, real time representation of Adobe's global creative userbase.
Adobe Lights, put together by GS&P's BETA Group, reflects the worldwide nature of creativity and instant connectivity made possible by the internet. By linking these 100 illuminated, single pixel cubes to creatives across the planet, the viewer is able to see a tiny pixel-sized part of whatever project the connected artist is currently working on at that exact moment, with the colour scaled up and appearing on the corresponding cube; giving a tiny glimpse into the work of artists like Bacho Jachvadze in Tbilisi, Georgia or Stevie Laux in San Francisco.
To give the creative agency more control over the lighting, the video above was shot at a warehouse space in California but the work will soon find its way to Adobe's San Francisco headquarters.
Another recent, bold, and pixel-focused project saw Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre install large colourful cubes in Pixel Artcade, an interactive piece designed to encourage donations.
