#689 | UkraineDAO, Good Growth v2 & Tinker Hatfield 🦆
We can’t ignore the atrocities that are currently going on in Ukraine as there are members in our community, as there are around the world, who are directly feeling the impacts of what’s happening in Ukraine. Apart from being there for them in DMs and voice chats, we recommend this list of resources as a good place to start 🇺🇦
In the same vein, we mustn’t forget the countless other wars that are currently happening around the world, so have been asking “What responsibility do DAOs have in addressing global issues?” in order to acknowledge our own biases and filter bubbles, which you can contribute to here.
We want to create a thesis for supporting projects that focus on intentional impact rather than superficial accreditations
Last year, we started bringing our good growth mission to life with 12 values that came out of the pre-season working group sessions. Our belief was to define a framework that included metrics and scoresheets, but we quickly realised that it needed to be more than a web3 BCorp.
We then took some time to establish what our own priorities were as a community and placed our own decision-making framework in the context of this worldview; based on a belief that web3 can ensure what is next is better than what has come before. You can read more about our Good Growth v2 here.

Protein is a place where people and ideas grow 🌱 We do this through our global community, agency, and studio space. We believe we’ve all got a responsibility to think and act bigger than ourselves and that good growth can only be achieved by balancing progress, profit, and purpose.
Yes, we really have published 689 issues of this newsletter. The first Protein Supplement was sent on 17th September 1997 to 14 people and (other than a few breaks over the years) has always aimed to distill what’s happening at the intersection of culture and technology into a concise and accessible digest. If you’re interested in digging into the (incomplete) archive, you can here.
You can also find us on Discord, Mirror, Twitter, and Insta. We always like to hear from you and how we can improve what we do, so if you want to get in touch about anything, please use this form.
