365 Charming Everyday Things is an exhibition curated by DGT architects in Paris. Based around a calendar, it considers the objects most commonly used by Japanese people in their everyday lives, focusing on the craftsmanship of the products and the skill and wisdom behind them.

The exhibition, which is now touring Japan, opened late January at the Bastille Design Center in Paris and was held over three floors - the main room showcasing all 365 products themselves, displayed on white ceramic plates of equal size (so as to not single out any particular items). All of the objects were available for purchase in the exhibition shop.

Not only does this exhibition celebrate Japanese design, which manages to combine practicality with a minimal aesthetic, but it also provides us with a glimpse into the lives of another culture, and encourages us to step back and appreciate the simplicity of daily life.
