Founded back in 1854, Louis Vuitton have just released a book documenting their heritage and relationship with their most renowned item - the luggage trunk. Aptly named 'Louis Vuitton: 100 Legendary Trunks', the book highlights the brands foundation in luggage and and documents the unique trunks created over the past 150 years.

To coincide with the book, an app of the same name has just been released which is packed with videos, sound clips, unpublished texts and documents along with a full compendium of the 100 best trunks in the brands history. The luggage has been taken aboard, 'mythical trains and transatlantic ocean liners, automobiles and the world’s first airplanes, crossing borders and withstanding the test of time, accompanying adventurers, trend-setters, crowned heads of state and artists.' The pieces bear witness as much to the elegant art of travel as to the passionate adventures of their owners (ranging from Harry Houdini to Ernest Hemingway).

The book and app are a great example of a luxury brand engaging with their audience by celebrating their heritage and creating an in-depth study into their trademark product. Check it out here.
